Architecture & Infrastructure

The system is organized as a monorepo with multiple applications that share common type and logic packages, keeping the customer web, admin, and backend always in sync with one another. A central backend exposes the business logic and API, while time-sensitive and demanding processes are moved into separate background services so the main application stays fast and responsive even at peak load. The customer web (Next.js/React) and the admin panel (Angular) are separated according to their audience, and the whole infrastructure is set up and scaled for production.

Platform Ecosystem

Customer Web: Registration and login, product catalog, cart, account top-ups, collections, prize games, and guides.

Admin Panel: Management of the catalog, users, transactions, and reports, with overviews and charts.

Backend / API: Business logic, authentication, payments, invoices, and integrations.

Background Services: Automated handling of demanding and time-sensitive tasks.

Shared Packages: Common contracts and logic used across all applications.

Infrastructure: PostgreSQL, Redis, production servers, and scaling.

The Challenge

The core challenge was to automate the top-up and payment of game tokens — a process that traditionally relies on manual steps, waits on processing, and is prone to errors. The goal was for a customer to pay and receive tokens on their account almost instantly, reliably and without human intervention, on a system that can handle a high number of simultaneous transactions. On top of that, the platform had to ensure payment security, data consistency, and production stability under load.

The Solution

We built a platform that runs the entire flow — from purchase and payment to token delivery — automatically. The customer goes through a simple process on the web, while the system reliably and quickly completes the top-up in the background with no manual steps. Demanding and time-sensitive parts are processed separately from the main application, so the platform stays responsive and stable even at peak load. The admin panel gives the team full insight into and control over the catalog, transactions, and users, and the whole environment is secured and scaled for production.

The Result

Playlab now has a fully automated platform, built from scratch, where customers buy and top up tokens with no waiting and no manual processing. What previously required manual steps now happens automatically and reliably, backed by an administrative system for monitoring and management and infrastructure ready to grow and support a larger number of simultaneous users.
